New Yorker!!

Hi there,
I'm moving to York in a few months and I just
want to find out some info about where the
best place to live is!
I will be a postgraduate student and want to
live near to York uni or on a bus route- the
no. 4 maybe. However, I don't want to live in
an area where many students live as I don't
enjoy the student lifestyle, I'd prefer to be
somewhere quiet.
If possible, I'd also like to be close (maybe
within walking distance) of the city centre.

Sooooo... any suggestions?

* I was also wondering about door step
recycling in York. Does the council take
plastic? And if not, where can I recycle my
plastic?

Many thanks

Fulford and Heslington are probably the two
best places to live.

As for recycling, there is a collection of
plastics, paper and glass every two weeks, a
plastic box for glass and plastic and a blue
heavy duty bag for paper

If there is anywhere you particularly want to
go in Scarborough let me know and I could
probably be of some help.
