What an absolute idiot!! Irishbadboy must be
on heroin himself, or maybe he's thinking
about somewhere in Ireland. I have lived on
the island for years and there are no more
drugs here than anywhere else, although there
are plenty of prisoners here who tried to
smuggle it in!! My brother and sister where
brought up here and I am in the process of
bringing up my daughter here, I have lived in
Australia, Wales, England and yes even
Ireland (my parents have a house there) and
like anywhere it really depends on who you
mix with - enough said. We have excellent
schools, relatively low crime and very low
unemployment. Do not let this low-life put
you off!!
Isle of man is a nice place to bring up kids,
u only find drugs if u go lookin 4 them, just
like anywhere!!! i have lived here all my
life and i know its a good safe place to
bring up children, and very low crime rate.Id
much rather live here than in anywhere else
in the UK.
meh if you want your kids to be bored all the
time yeah go for it. i wasd born here and i
love the island, its heritage, the
countryside but as for things to do when your
young mmm forget it .....lollies
I agree with the irish dude - the place is
choca-blocked with drugs. I've only visited
the place a few times and on each occasion I
was offered a variety of dope. Filthy!

I stayed in the iom for 5 years, its a
wonderful place to be in the north of the
island, Ramsay, good people and i am myself a
manx citizen. I would not think twice of
taking my child and future children to the
island. If you were looking for drugs then u
will find them so i dont know what ur on
about. I lived with a family and they walked
back and forward to school everyday, what a
lovely way to live. We stay in scotland now
and we watch junkies everyday going to the
chemist to get their methadone. Do u think
this is what we want out children to see? So
the iom is not bad atall. TAKE UR KIDS THERE!

i totally disagree with irishbadboy.
The Isle of Man is still one of the safest
places to bring your child up on.
Ok we do have a few problems but overall we
are so very lucky.
We have good schools, we have great ppl, and
we still have the safety on children on our
side.
Ok things may be changing, but isnt it
everywhere, we could never sit here as a
little innocent island and watch as the rest
of the world changes.
I would say, yes of course it is i a great
place to bring up your child or children, and
you will be welcomed

As for the Doctors comment, wow you have
visited a few times, i very much doubt that
each time someone has come up and actually
said to you,'hey do you want some cannabis'.
But thats my opinion of course.
i think irishboy is on some of them drugs he
is talking about, im scottish live here since
85, brought a family up, no hassle , no
drugs, yes there is some around but its not
london, manchester, liverpool, glasgow is
it!!, its a fantastic place , dont be put of
by idiots saying its a drug haven!! what a
laugh, its brilliant here,
The isle of man is no different from any
where else for drugs, i was born and bred
here,but my mother was from england and dad
from further away,
it has just been said today in local paper,
that the drugs are mainly comming from
liverpool , a few just got up to 30 years in
prison for drug smuggling, our police wont
stamp it out full stop, but they will try and
make isle of man a safer place for us,
As a teenager myself i strongly disagree what
he has to say. Drugs are only involved in
those lifes who have nothing better to do.
The island is well educated with many bright
children and those who are NOT involved with
drugs (MOST). I only know around 7 out of 300
that actually take drugs . . and they are not
the brightest either. Labeling the island'
drug central' isnt good. Give some credit !
